That’s right, Vader, I’m makin’ yer ass MINE. Translation: I’m in the process of modding the crap out of K2’s Vader subtheme for Wordpress. Further translation: I’m creating a blog for BioTour, a place to put our thoughts, reflections, photographs, both from the last trip and our trip to come. A vital piece of the puzzle, laid out on the floor before me.
I’m working hard with the graphics, trying to build a place that feels…like us. The beautiful book you see at the top belongs to Alan, from a photo session I did with this magical travel journal from adventures past. That’s his writing you see under this text, the leather texture on the sides again from this amazing tome.
On the programming side, creating a blog has proved niggling, maddening, containing of punctuated breakthroughs…Although sometimes I think this unending task will kill me outright, I raise my programming spear and ram it home again. It’s the wild west out here, everything’s open source, third party, might work, might not…Better just get under the hood and fix it yer damn self.
Just the way I like it.
…As for today, I have to say…Ha-HA! I have defeated the evilllll Lightbox plugin. LOOOOOK at those splendiferous overlays. It took a full upgrade of Wordpress (scary, scary…), a K2 theme upgrade, a nightly K2 patch from 2/7 that finally worked…and endless testing and modding of variations on the script. Ha-HA!
And now back to your regularly scheduled program. I mean, Microsoft sux, but at least it friggin’ WORKS. Mostly. Sheeeeeesh.
